Jake Hicks Creative Lighting Workshop

On March 11th, Rotolight ran a Creative Lighting Workshop with renowned photographer and Master of Light, Jake Hicks in High Wycombe at Studio 88. The event was a fantastic opportunity for guests to learn techniques that Jake uses in his work and improve their photography and lighting skills.
Jake Hicks is a commercial fashion and portrait shooter who’s work is often described as bold, vibrant, colourful and unique.
Jake has been shooting commercially for close to two decades and in recent years has also become very well known for his engaging educational content, both online with video tutorials and with his international workshops.
The workshop started with an introduction by Jake, who discussed why he loves using Rotolights in his work and the benefits of moving to continuous lighting when he has used strobes for much of his photography career.
We had 3 lighting set ups with a model on each. Jake introduced each set up, light by light, explaining what each of them were doing.
Guests then got a chance to try out the set ups and techniques with Jake and Rotolight on hand to provide guidance and feedback. The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved and guests left very happy with their images.
