Stefan Lange
Stefan Lange is a Director of Photography and VFX veteran that has worked on countless Hollywood blockbusters including Mission Impossible, Lost in Space, and Casino Royale; his team winning an Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for their work on the hit series, Merlin.
What are your interests outside of filmmaking?
I can never seem to get away from the camera! I’ve been getting more and more into photography in my spare time. I’m really into history, so usually I photograph old warplanes near my home, architecture – anything with a story.
How have Rotolight impacted the way you work on set?
Even on a large film set lit with big studio fixtures, I always have my own NEO 2 three-light kit standing by and ready to bring in for that extra kick or fill, but on a small set up, they’re often enough on their own. I helped develop the built-in CineSFXTM because of all the issues I’ve experienced with setting up flicker-boxes, especially short notice. That’s not a problem anymore 0 I usually use my NEO 2s to generate the effects now.
