Rotolight are delighted to announce that our CEO, Rod Aaron Gammons, has been featured on the LDC’s list of Top 50 Most Ambitious Leaders supported by The Telegraph.
Rod Aaron has been overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Rotolight since its inception 11 years ago, including its marketing direction. Founded by Rod Aaron and his father Rod Gammons Snr in 2008, Rotolight has now shipped over 100,000 products to more than 40 countries in every corner of the globe.
“2008 was the first time that a camera was available, which did both stills and high-definition video,” Rod says in his interview with the LDC. “But there was no lighting product that could do both – there was either a flash or hot, big, expensive video lights. We had the idea to create a portable, affordable light that worked for both. It was the first of its kind.”
Since then, Rotolight have continued to deliver industry-first functionality across their product range, including the first LEDs to offer both the shoot what you see benefits of a continuous light with the extra power of High Speed Sync flash all-in-one. Rotolight has also been consistently recognised internationally; having earned over 20 awards and accolades across its entire product range. Earlier this year the NEO 2 was voted Best On-Camera Flashby Photography News readers and, more recently, the new Titan™ X2 was nominated for a LucieTech Award.
After securing £5 million in growth capital funding in February of this year, the future is bright for Rotolight. The investment enables us to continue delivering innovative functionality that will revolutionise the way creatives work with light, including the brand new SmartSoft™ diffusion technology.
“I am extremely grateful to be featured alongside such inspirational entrepreneurs,” says Rod. “We are huge disruptors in our industry, and I’m honoured that Rotolight’s success has been nationally recognised.”
